Special Director General of Police (Rail) of Madhya Pradesh Police and Manish Shankar Sharma, 1992 batch IPS officer, died during treatment in Delhi. He will be cremated in Bhopal. There is a wave of mourning among the police department and his friends due to his death.
Manish Shankar Sharma was born in Narmadapuram district of Madhya Pradesh and served several important positions in the police service. He served as SPs in Raisen, Satna, Chhindwara and Khandwa districts. In addition, he worked in Bosnia and Herjegovina under the United Nations Mission in 1997–98, where he trained local police officers. Manish Sharma’s scope was very wide, and also played his role as the Director of Security in the Airport Authority of India.
International identity received
Sharma also received many honors internationally. He was awarded a special award in the city of San Diego, California, and was also awarded the Certificate of Special Congressunal Reconstruction by the US House of Representatives. His contribution was appreciated not only in India but also globally.
Worked in four continents
Sharma’s education started from Daily College in Indore and later received MBA degree from Birla Institute of Pilani. In addition, he also obtained a master’s degree in International Security, Counter Terrorism and Public Policy from California University. He worked in four continents during his career and also contributed significantly to the book ‘Global Terrorism-Chalenges and Policy Options’ written on global terrorism.
Wave of mourning in family
Kripa Shankar Sharma, father of Manish Shankar Sharma, was the Chief Secretary of the Government of Madhya Pradesh, and his uncle Dr. Sitasharan Sharma was the former Assembly Speaker. Recalling his contribution to his family and police department, his dedication, hard work and honesty are being appreciated. His death is a deep loss for Madhya Pradesh Police and all his associates.
Shivraj expressed grief
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has also expressed condolences on the death of Sharma. He wrote on X that the news of the death of Special Director General of Madhya Pradesh, Railway Manish Shankar Sharma ji is very sad. Manish Shankar Sharma ji was a duty -bound and dedicated police officer who made an exemplary contribution to the administrative service. His death is an irreparable loss to the police service and society. May God give peace to his soul and support his families in this difficult time. Humble tribute!
