Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shared the memories of the visit to Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh in detail with American Podcaster Lex Fridman. In the podcast, PM Shri Modi discussed the tribal dominated village Vicharpur in Shahdol district. He said that in the visit to Shahdol district, he came to know about the place where the residents have unwavering love for football. They call their region mini Brazil. In American Podcast, PM Shri Modi said that we have a state in Central Part of India, Shahdol is a district, Shahdol district is a very large tribal belt, where many tribal people live, Tribal women run self-help groups. The Prime Minister Shri Modi discussed and encouraged the women members of the self-help group and the players of the football revolution of Shahdol division during the visit of Shahdol and encouraged them.
Prime Minister Shri Modi shared the memories of visiting Shahdol district and said that I was talking to him. In Shahdol, he saw that around 80 to 100 youth, young children, all the people were sitting in the same way while wearing sports dress. I went to them, asked them where are you guys from? Got the answer, we are from Mini Brazil. I asked the players what is Mini Brazil? So the players told that our village Vicharpur is called Mini Brazil. I then asked how to say Mini Brazil? The players told that people have been playing football for four generations in every family in our village. More than 80 national players have come out of the village. The entire village is dedicated to football and they say that when the individual match of our village is done, 20 to 25 thousand spectators come from the surrounding villages. Prime Minister Shri Modi said that the craze of football in India is increasing these days, I consider the Mini Brazil of Shahdol auspicious for him. This creates a team spirit.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav thanked Prime Minister Shri Modi
Expressing gratitude for the encouragement of Prime Minister Shri Modi, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that this will not only increase the enthusiasm of the players of the entire state. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that all possible help will be provided by the state government to further encourage football in the state. The Chief Minister said that the state government is leaving no stone unturned to promote sports. Players of our sports academies have illuminated the name of Madhya Pradesh and country at national and international level.
Former commissioner Mr. Sharma also encouraged
Efforts have been made to provide better facilities to the football players on the initiative of Mr. Rajiv Sharma, former Commissioner of Shahdol division to encourage football in Shahdol division. Its expected results are getting. Football clubs have been formed in almost all the villages of Shahdol division including village Vicharpur village in Shahdol district and football players are being encouraged.
