Central Banking London has selected the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The RBI said in a post on X, “The Reserve Bank of India has been selected for the Digital Transformation Award 2025 by Central Banking London, UK. The RBI is honored and recognized for its initiatives, including the flow and charioteer system developed by the in-house developer team. The award committee mentioned how these digital initiatives have reduced the use of paper-based submissions, which has changed the internal and external processes of RBI. ”
Central Banking London said in a press release that both these initiatives have been important for this work. The charioteer digitized all the internal workflows of the RBI. This was live in January 2023, which helped employees to safely stool and share documents, improve record management and increase the options of data analysis through reports and dashboards.
The second phase of the digital change process was launched in May 2024 as a flow ‘smooth flow’ in Hindi, which created a digital medium for external users to submit a regulatory application to RBI. Documents presented and processed through the flow portal are then plugged into the charioteer database, where they can be digitally handled in RBI offices with centralized cyber security systems and digital tracking.
It also said that successfully adopting the charioteer is due to the team’s work in establishing partially essential support structures. Before creating the system, the IT team participated in a long collaborative process with them to understand the needs of the employees and appointed senior ‘Nodal Officer’ from each department to promote upgradation. The online charioteer school (‘school’) helps users to get acquainted with the system and the school was started with extensive personal training. In addition, Sarathi Mitra (‘Mitra’) Each RBI office consists of people who know the system well and can help colleagues on any issue.
