4% tender reservation for Muslim contractors in Karnataka

The Karnataka Cabinet has approved the amendment of the Karnataka Transparency Public Procurement (KTPP) Act, which aims to provide four percent reservation in tenders to Muslim contractors, with official sources.

The decision was taken in a meeting held at the Cabinet Hall of the Legislative Assembly under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday, and it was decided that the KTPP Act would be amended after presenting the ongoing assembly session, the official sources said. The cabinet has approved the presentation of obedience in the same session on Monday.

Earlier on March 7, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah confirmed that by presenting the budget of the Government of Karnataka, under the category called Category-II B, now four percent of the contracts of public work will be reserved for Muslims.
For suppliers related to SC, ST, Category-I, Category-II A and Category-II B, reservation will be provided in the purchase of goods and services under various government departments, corporations and institutions, which is up to Rs 1 crore, which refers to Category-II B Muslims.
At the same time, the government has given good news to the people expecting e-death. The cabinet has agreed to give e-death in rural areas which have been approved by the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj obedience.

If this obedience is approved, then the rural revenue projects and the houses of the village station will be equipped, it was added.

The reform measures of the Karnataka Public Service Commission were discussed in the cabinet meeting as KPSC has increased.
In addition, the Cabinet has agreed to the formation of a separate committee for the correction of the Public Service Commission. The cabinet also consulted on the maintenance of the recommendations of the committee.
