Keeping in mind the dignity of religious places, the Uttarakhand government has decided to close the departmental stores (grocery) of liquor sales allocated by the government in Tirthanagri Rishikesh and Haridwar after the next 1 April. Due to this, now a departmental store of open liquor in the pilgrimage area will end.

Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister Dr. Premchand Aggarwal had spoken about his mind in front of Chief Minister Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami to preserve the identity of religious places. Taking cognizance of this, it has been decided to close Rishikesh and Haridwar’s Deputy Stores (Grosry) after 31 March 2025.

At the same time, Cabinet Minister Premchand Aggarwal called a meeting with the police officials to stop the sale and smuggling of illegal drugs in the area and directed to stop it immediately, expressing concern over the illegal sale and smuggling of drugs.

Cabinet Minister Premchand Aggarwal called the police and excise officials at his Camp Office in Rishikesh and expressed his resentment on the sale of illegal liquor and drugs in the area, showing a list of liquor selling places and sought answers from the police officers. On which the police officers regularly talked about taking action on illegal liquor and drug sales.

On this, Minister Dr. Aggarwal told the police officers that information about illegal liquor and other intoxication sales is coming out on social media. In such a situation, action on illegal drugs of the police seems suspicious. At the same time, he told that today the home delivery of illegal liquor in the city area is happening.

The future of the youth is ending due to other drugs like Charas, Ganja, Opium. On which Cabinet Minister Aggarwal told the police officers in a strict tone that the police post where illegal drugs will be sold. Strict action will be taken against the outpost in -charge of the concerned area.
