Big upset in ICC rankings: Rohit overtakes Virat Kohli and South Africa’s Heinrich Klassen

India has won the title of Champions Trophy 2025. Team India captured the trophy by defeating New Zealand in the final. Captain Rohit Sharma played an important role in this victory and played a brilliant 76 runs. Now the impact of his performance is also shown on the ICC’s ODI rankings.

Rohit Sharma gets a big reward
Rohit Sharma has benefited tremendously in the latest ICC ODI rankings. He jumped two places to finish third. Their rating has increased to 756. With this great edge, Rohit has left Virat Kohli and South Africa’s Heinrich Klassen behind. Klassen has now moved to fourth place while Kohli has slipped to fifth place.

Shubman Gill still holds number 1
India’s young opener Shubman Gill remains at the top in the ODI rankings. His rating is 784. Babar Azam of Pakistan remains at number two. Deril Mitchell of New Zealand has gained one place and has moved to sixth position.

Shreyas Iyer made a place in the top-10
Shreyas Iyer, who scored the highest run for India in the Champions Trophy 2025, has also benefited in the ICC rankings. He remains in the eighth place. Charaith Asanka of Sri Lanka and Ibrahim Jadaran of Afghanistan are also making their place in the top-10.

Rachin Ravindra’s tremendous jump
New Zealand’s young batsman Rachin Ravindra performed tremendously and jumped 14 places to 14th place. At the same time, KL Rahul of India suffered losses and slipped to 16th place.
