The dissatisfaction in his own country has reached its own country against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Its hallmark was seen in a survey, in which about three -fourth of Israeli citizens say that PM Netanyahu should resign from his post taking responsibility for the incidents of October 7, 2023. According to the results of the monthly survey released by the Israeli Democracy Institute on Sunday, about 75 per cent of Israelis believe that Netanyahu should now step down.
A report by the Times of Israeli states that for the month of February, 48 percent of the people in the survey of the aerial voice index (which is a monthly survey of public opinion) say that Netanyahu should quit his post immediately, while 24.5 percent people believe that they should leave the PM post after the end of the war in Gaza. Apart from this, 14.5 percent people say that they should fulfill the responsibility of dealing with Gaza without resigning and retaining the post. However, 10 percent of the people are also those who say that Netanyahu neither needs to fulfill nor resign.
‘Prime Minister not Crime Minister’
Overall, this survey has found that a total of 72.5% of the people believe that Netanyahu should take responsibility and resign after the war, while 87% of the people believe they should take responsibility of October 7, whether they resign later or not. Let us know that in Israel, people have been protesting against Netanyahu, a poster named ‘Prime Minister not Crime Minister’ for a long time.
Heavy anger in Jews too
As far as the Jews are concerned, 45% of the Jewish respondents believe that Netanyahu should resign immediately, while 59% Arabs believe that Netanyahu should resign immediately. This is much higher than the Jews. These surveys were conducted between 25 and 28 February. 73 percent of the respondents agreed that Israel should move forward in the second phase of the ceasefire/mortgage return agreement with Hamas. The agreement includes the complete termination of enmity, return from Gaza and release of Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the release of all hostages. The respondents of the question associated with Gaza on Gaza included 61.5% voters of Netanyahu’s Likud Party. However, the number of supporters to continue the agreement is more than opponents among voters of other coalition parties.
