An Air India aircraft going from Mumbai to New York had to return from the middle flight after a bomb threat on Monday morning. Following the required protocol, the aircraft landed safely at 10:25 am local time. This created an atmosphere of stir among the passengers. Air India said that the aircraft is currently undergoing compulsory investigation by security agencies and is fully cooperating with the airline officials. The flight is re-scheduled for the next day.
Air India said in a statement, “The aircraft is being compulsory investigation by the security agencies and is giving its full support to the Air India officials. The flight has been resolved to operate on 11 March 2025 at 5 am and all passengers have been offered stay, food and other assistance in the hotel till then. ”
Passengers and crew safety priority
Air India assured that the safety of its passengers and crew is its top priority. The statement said, “Our colleagues are trying to minimize the inconvenience to passengers due to this disruption. As usual, Air India gives top priority to the safety of passengers and crew. ”
An Air India spokesperson said, “Today, on 10 March 2025, the AI 119, which flew on 10 March 2025, revealed the possible security threat during the flight. After following the necessary protocol, the aircraft was taken back to Mumbai in the interest of safety of all the people in the aircraft. The aircraft landed in Mumbai safely at 1025 pm (local time). The aircraft is being compulsory investigation by the security agencies, and the Air India officials are giving their full support. ”
