The Government of India has protested against the attack on BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Temple, a major Hindu temple in Southern California. Posting on X, Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said, “We have seen reports about the attack on a Hindu temple in Cheno Hills California.
We strongly condemn such disgusting acts. We appeal to the local authorities to take strict action against those responsible for these acts and also ensure the safety of the places of worship. ” The BAPS Sri Swaminarayan Temple located in Cheno Hills, California, faced widespread condemnation after being defiled. The incident was a major shock for the Hindu community.
Widespread anger among Hindu organizations
The official page of BAPS in the United States said about the incident that they are standing against hatred and will ensure that peace and sympathy are followed. BAPS Public Affairs wrote, “The Hindu community stands strongly against the impurity of another temple in Cheno Hills. Together with the community of Cheno Hills and Southern California, we will never let hatred catch hatred. Our general humanity and belief will ensure that peace and sympathy are ruled. ”
The incident took place only a few days before the “Khalistan Public Collection” program to be held in Los Angeles, California, which is being concerned about the increase in religious tensions. The Coalition of Hinduj of North America (Cohna), an organization working for Hindu issues in North America, has condemned the incident while posting on X.
Earlier in September, the BAPS Hindu Temple at Sacramento, California was impure from abusive language grafity, in which “Hindus go back!” Like slogans were written. About 10 days ago, BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Temple, located in Melvil, New York, was also attacked with similar disgusting messages. The Indian Consulate in New York has strongly condemned these incidents. The local Hindu community has reiterated its unity and the commitment to stand firm against such acts, nervous with these attacks.
