Naxal’s affected panchayat of Bijapur district, who lived with many women living in the camp of Bhairamgarh, where the Naxalites made colorless (Were Made). In order to save their lives, these women left their village and now making herbal gulal and colors (makes) are dissolving color in the lives of people.

These women have been doing this work for the last five years without any hassle and are talking about doing it in the coming years. Under the Bihan program in Bhairamgarh in Bijapur district, women of Maa Durga Women’s Self Help Group have been becoming self -sufficient for the last five years. This time the people of Bijapur will play Holi with herbal colors and gulal made. The demand for herbal gulal made by these women is also quite high. Many people are also ordering them for Gulal.

Here, District Panchayat CEO Puneet Ram Sahu said that women are being encouraged to make herbal gulal. Taking advantage of this, these women are taking advantage of this by making Gulal for the last five years and selling it in the market. Every year, by selling more than 50 kg of gulal, she is maintaining her family. There are currently 10 women in this group.

Herbal Gulal is being prepared with different flowers

Women of this self-help group are preparing colors with different flowers and vegetables for Holi. These women are preparing herbal gulal with spinach bhaji, red bhaji, tesu flowers, marigold flowers. These women have already been trained by the administration. In the last five years, these women have sold about 150 kg of gulal so far. The special thing is that this herbal gulal does not harm the faces of the people. This is the reason that people are already ordering herbal gulal by ordering it.

Development Block Project Manager Rohit Sori said that the women of the group are residents of the Itampar village which are from the Indravati river. Due to Naxal violence, these women have left the village and are currently living in camps in Bhairamgarh. These women have been given the facility to live by the district administration. Sori told that apart from this, these women are living differently by doing different businesses.

Herbal Gulal demand more

Fagni Kawasi and Secretary Anita Karma, president of the Self Help Group, said that the first training to make herbal gulal was given by the district administration. The colors made here are completely natural. We are preparing different colors from flower petals, spinach bhaji, red bhaji, turmeric, gram flour, gram flour. The demand for our herbal gulal is also very high. Due to this, we have been doing this work for the last five years. The women said that their gulal is being sold by setting up stalls in the market as well as in the market. This is also earning good income.
