Temporary waiting room, ticket counter and inquiry counters are being built at New Delhi railway station. Special facilities will also be provided for women.
More than 250 special trains will be run
Indian Railways has made a big announcement keeping in mind the convenience of passengers during Holi. More than 250 special trains will be run to avoid congestion and ensure easy travel. Most of these trains will be operated from major stations of Northern Railway, especially from New Delhi railway station.
Special arrangements are being made to handle a huge crowd of passengers at New Delhi railway station. A temporary waiting room is being built outside the station, where necessary services like seating facilities, water, toilets, general ticket counters and inquiry centers will be provided for the passengers. Additional deployment of railway personnel and Railway Protection Force (RPF) is being done to make the mob management smooth.
Steps taken for crowd control
Railways have taken several important steps for the safety and convenience of passengers. Passengers will be prevented in the temporary waiting room to ensure that there is no excessive congestion on the platform and allow them to go on the platform a few minutes before the arrival of the train.
Additional ticket counters and inquiry centers will be set up at the station so that passengers do not face any problem in buying tickets and traveling about travel. Especially special ticket counters will be opened for women, so that they will not have to get long queues.
Strict steps taken by taking lessons from stampede
The railway administration is completely cautious after the stampede incident at New Delhi railway station on the night of 15 February. Taking lessons from this incident, the Railways has done special management this time.

Most special trains are being planned from platform number 16 at New Delhi railway station so that passengers do not have to use the foot over bridge and control the crowd. Different doors will be set for entry and exit so that smooth movement at the station remains.

- Temporary waiting room: Temporary waiting rooms will be built outside the station, where seating, water and toilet facilities will be available.
- Additional Ticket Counter: Additional counters will be opened to ensure that passengers do not have trouble buying tickets.
- Inquiry Center: Additional inquiry counters will be set up to help the passengers.
- Special counter for women: Separate counters will be opened to ensure that women do not have any problem in buying tickets.
- Security system: Additional deployment of Railway Protection Force (RPF) and railway personnel will be done.
