Washington
In the US, around 500 Indians have been sent to India in three flights recently. These people went with illegal documents in the US. But now a new controversy is going to arise. Thousands of Indians have begun to face the danger of returning from America, who reached America as a minor. These people got a chance to live in America on H-4 visas. Now they are going to be 21 years old, so their future is in darkness. According to the current migrant law in the US, people who come as a minor cannot be declared dependent on their H-1B visa holder parents. By doing this, he could get permission to stay there.
Till now he used to get two years of chance and during this time he used to change the status of his visa. But now the change in visa policy has pushed their future into darkness. Many people are already looking for an option. Some people are preparing to move to countries like Canada, Britain, where policies about settling are a bit flexible. Actually there is a long backlog of employment based green card in America. In such a situation, it is difficult to get citizenship to new applicants immediately. The US Citizenship and Migrant Services Department has recently announced registration period for H-1B visas. This process is going on from 7 March to 24 March.
The H-1B visa is for those who are non-residents. Under this, American companies are approved to give jobs to foreign people. These jobs are given technical and expertise of the subject as the basis. Now the screw is stuck here that H-1B visas can be issued only 65 thousand every year. Apart from these, this visa can be issued to 20 thousand people who have received a masters degree in America itself. Now the US has tightened its policies to prevent the possibility of fraud. The registration fee for H-1B visa has been $ 215. According to an estimate, there are about 1.34 lakh Indians who are going to be 21 years old and their families do not have a green card.
The American system has large -scale backlogs. In such a situation, there is a strong possibility that thousands of Indians will have to leave America. Recently, the Texas Court had banned the issuance of work permits for new applicants. Till now there was a rule, which is the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. Under this rule, people who came with parents as a minor used to get additional two years of time for citizenship. Now that time is over. In such a situation, thousands of Indians do not have any other way than finding any other option.
