Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been living in India since the change of power in Bangladesh. The Mohammad Yunus government has put a lot of emphasis on his back to his homeland, but India is not giving any sense at all. In an interview, Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor of the Interim Government of Bangladesh, has said that Dhaka had sent formal letters to India demanding extradition of the deployed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, but did not receive any official reaction from New Delhi.

In an interview with Sky News, a UK, Younus said Hasina would be prosecuted for a crime against humanity. Sheikh Hasina, 77, has been living in India since August 5 last year. She fled from Bangladesh after a massive protests led by the students, which demolished the 16 -year government of their Awami League. Bangladesh’s International Crime Tribunal (ICT) has issued arrest warrants against Hasina and several former cabinet ministers, advisors, and military and civil officials for crime and massacre against humanity.

Case will also be run on people associated with Hasina
Mohammad Yunus said, “A lawsuit will run. Not only against him, but also all the people associated with him – his family members, his colleagues as well. ” Bangladesh has issued two arrest warrants for him. Yunus said he had sent formal letters, but did not receive any official response from New Delhi. Last year, India confirmed the ‘Note Verbal’ or diplomatic communication from the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi, but refused to comment on it. However, Younus insisted that Hasina would have to face the court, whether physically present in Bangladesh or absent in India.

Younus mentioned the infamous jail
Yunus said that he was now surprised by what he saw in one of the infamous secret jails, whose code name is ‘House of Mirrors’. He said, “This is the most frightening thing that you can see, feel or see.” Hasina is accused of using her security forces and police for the kidnapping, torture and monitoring of hundreds of activists. She denies the allegations and says she is being persecuted politically. Yunus said it is taking time to detect the number and limit of people involved in alleged crimes.
