Passage of travel

There is a lot of ridiculing on the route reaching the temple. Therefore, the Amarnath Yatra route is opened to the public in the month of Shravan around July-August. To reach Amarnath by road, one has to first go to Jammu and then travel from Jammu to Srinagar. From Srinagar, pilgrims reach Pahalgam or Baltal. You can reach Pahalgam or Baltal by any vehicle, but you have to travel ahead of this. Because Sri Amarnath Yatra starts from Pahalgam and Baltal and two ways come from here to reach the holy cave. The distance from Pahalgam to Amarnath is about 48 kilometers, while the distance from Baltal to cave is 14 kilometers. From here, pilgrims have to travel from foot to the cave.

Since the distance from Baltal to Amarnath cave is less and it is a small route, pilgrims can reach the cave in a short time. But this path is quite difficult and straight climbing, so this route does not go more elderly and sick. While talking about Pahalgam route, this is the oldest and historical route of the Amarnath Yatra. It takes about 3 days to reach the cave with this route. But this is not very difficult. The first stop from Pahalgam comes from Chandanwadi, which is about 16 km from Pahalgam base camp, even the road is almost flat, after which the climb starts. The next stop from this is 3 km ahead of the flea top. The third stop is Sheshnag which is about 9 km from the flea top. After Sheshnag, the next stop comes from Panchatarni, which is 14 km from Sheshnag. The holy cave remains only 6 kilometers away from the Panchatarni.

The journey started from June 29 last year

Last year, the first batch for the Amarnath Yatra left on June 29. The yatra lasted till the day of Rakshabandhan i.e. 19 August. Last year, adequate arrangements were made for the safety of devotees. The security wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Police had made three-level security arrangements in the area around the Amarnath Base Camp in Jammu.
