In the semi -finals played between India and Australia in Dubai, Team India registered a stunning win and made it to the final of the tournament for the third consecutive time. Earlier, India had also reached the finals of 2013 and 2017. However, a bad news has come for the Indian team before the final – star all -rounder Hardik Pandya has been injured and his playing in the final is now doubtful.
Hardik Pandya’s injury became a cause of concern
The best performance in the semi -finals for the Indian team was done by Virat Kohli, who ensured India’s victory by scoring 84 runs in 98 balls. Rohit Sharma (28), Shreyas Iyer (45), Akshar Patel (27), KL Rahul (42*) and Hardik Pandya (28) also contributed significantly.
Hardik Pandya scored 28 runs in just 24 balls, including 1 four and 3 sixes. His aggressive batting pushed Australia to the backfoot. But while taking runs in the 47th over, he turned his heel, which hurt him. According to reports, KL Rahul refused to take the run, after which Hardik was injured while returning. He kept on lame for some time and now it has to be seen whether he will be able to fit for the final match. Indian captain Rohit Sharma made a unique record. He has become the first male captain to reach the finals of four different ICC tournaments.
