Chaitra Krishna Pratipada will change the routine of Lord Mahakal in the world famous Jyotirlinga Mahakaleshwar Temple. In the worship tradition of the temple, summer is considered to be the beginning from this day. During the summer, Rajadhiraj Mahakal will bathe with cold water. During this period, the time of three out of five Aarti to be held daily will also change.

Pt. Mahesh Pujari said that the worship tradition of Mahakal temple has the effect of cold and heat. These days, God is being worshiped according to the winter. At 4 o’clock in the morning, God is being bathed with lukewarm hot water in Bhasma Aarti.

After Holika Dahan on Phalgun Purnima, the summer is considered to be the beginning of the summer and God starts to serve God according to the heat. The time of three Aarti will also change in it.

Bal Bhog Aarti- 7.30 am to 8.15 am

Sleep Aarti – 10.30 pm to 11 pm

This sequence of worship will run till Sharad Purnima

In the Mahakal temple, God is worshiped according to the heat of six months from Phalgun Purnima to Sharad Purnima. At the same time, there is a tradition of worship according to winter from Sharad Purnima to Phalgun Purnima. Pooja Archana, which starts as per summer from March 15 on Chaitra Krishna Pratipada, will run till Sharad Purnima.
