Seeing saving in electricity bills every month due to installation of solar panels, now solar panels are being installed in homes under the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Free Power Scheme in Chhattisgarh.
According to CREDA officials, so far, about two and a half lakh people in the state have registered online in the portal of Prime Minister Surya Ghar Ghar Power Scheme, out of which about 40 thousand people have also applied to install solar panels in the houses. Out of these, solar panels have been installed in the homes of more than one thousand people. Due to this, electricity is also being produced in their homes, due to which there is also good savings in the electricity bill every month. This is the reason that people’s thinking on the solar panel has also become positive, due to which the number of registrations in the portal is also increasing continuously.
Consumers are preparing 360 units of electricity in the house every month by installing a 3 kW solar panel under the free power scheme on the Prime Minister Surya. Due to which the electricity bill is saving up to 20 thousand rupees. Applications are being made from many districts of the state including Raipur to take advantage of this scheme. These include districts like Naxal-affected Mohla-Manpur Sukma, Narayanpur.
Bank loan with subsidy
Under this scheme, consumers are being given discounts in the form of subsidy on installation of solar panels. The consumer was getting a loan of two lakh rupees and a subsidy of thousand rupees from the bank. Solar panel’s life is 25 years old. In this way, the consumer will save 4 lakh 21 thousand 200 rupees by installing solar panels.
Target to install solar panels in about one and a half million houses in two years
According to Kreda, under this scheme, a target has been set to install solar panels in about one and a half lakh houses in the state in two years. Officers in the districts have been directed to meet this goal. Under this, people are also being made aware of the benefits of solar panel.
