The first major reshuffle has been made in the bureaucracy under the new BJP government in Delhi. Madhu Rani Tewatia, a 2008 batch IAS officer, has been appointed as Secretary to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. This reshuffle was done by the Service Department under the Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. Madhu Rani Tewatia is a 2008 batch IAS. He has previously served as Additional Chief Executive Officer in the National Health Authority under the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry.
Who is Madhu Rani Tewatia
The 2008 cadre IAS Madhu Tewatiya’s husband was IPS Narendra Kumar Singh, who was crushed to death by a mining mafia in Morena, Madhya Pradesh. Earlier she was also posted in Madhya Pradesh cadre with her husband. After the husband’s death, she appealed for cadre change. Assuming a special case, the central government had accepted the request of Madhu Rani Tewatia and gave permission to change the cadre. They were then shifted from MP cadre to Agmut cadre.
In Morena, IPS husband died after being crushed by a tractor
On March 8, 2012 in Morena district, IPS officer Narendra Kumar Singh died after being crushed by a tractor. It is alleged that the mining mafia deliberately crushed and killed him. The investigation of this sensational incident was handed over to the CBI. The central agency described the entire incident as an accident in the investigation. However, the tractor driver who crushed IPS Narendra Kumar Singh was sentenced to ten years. There was no evidence of the suspected conspiracy of the mining mafia or political fraternity.
Madhu Rani Tewatia cadre was changed in January 2013
In January 2013, the cadre of Madhu Rani Tewatia, a 2008 batch IAS officer, was replaced. Tewatia was first allocated Madhya Pradesh cadre. According to the notification of the Department of Personnel and Training, ‘With the consent of the Government of Madhya Pradesh and the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Central Government approved inter-cake transfer from Madhya Pradesh cadre to AGMUT cadre to IAS Dr. Madhu Rani Tewatia as a special case.
