Indian economy increased by 6.2 percent in the quarter of October-December 2024

The Indian economy increased at a speed of 6.2 percent in the quarter of October-December 2024. The growth rate in the same period of a year ago was 9.5 percent. The growth rate of the Indian economy in the current financial year is estimated to be 6.5 percent while it was 9.2 percent in FY 2023-24.

₹ 11.70 lakh crore is fiscal deficit
India’s fiscal deficit was ₹ 11.70 lakh crore during April to January, which is 74.5% of the annual target. It was at 63.6% in the same period last year. The government plans to reduce the fiscal deficit to 4.8% of GDP in the current financial year, which is less than 5.6% last year.
