Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan emphasized the need for ‘One Nation, One Election’ during a program in Bhopal. He said that development work is affected due to repeated elections in the country. Governments are busy in the electoral process throughout the year, due to which the administrative staff is also engaged in electoral activities and the pace of development plans slows down.
Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that due to frequent elections, governments are only busy in making schemes with electoral benefits and in such a situation, many important and tough decisions are left behind. This not only affects the long term development, but the public also has to be deprived of real reforms.
Frequent election wastage of resources-Shivraj Singh Chauhan
Chauhan called the repeated elections a huge waste of resources. He said that millions of crores of rupees are spent in every election. Referring to the money seized by the Election Commission, he said that if elections are held simultaneously in the country, then this money can be invested in development works.
Election together will save money and resources
Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that there is no legal hurdle in implementing ‘One Nation, One Election’. The committee constituted under the chairmanship of former President Ram Nath Kovind has prepared a comprehensive report on this subject, in which solutions have been given to all possible problems. He appealed to the public, especially the youth to put pressure on political parties so that elections can be held simultaneously in the country by saving money and resources.
All political parties are preparing for the next election
Shivraj said, whether there is anything else in his country, but all political parties make the same preparation for five years, 12 months, every week, 24 hours that is the next election. They are engaged in the same preparation. Now see only one year, in November-December last year, assembly elections in MP, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan were held. The fatigue of the assembly elections did not come out that the Lok Sabha was declared after four months.
Nothing had happened in the assembly elections for 6 months. The work of development was stalled due to the Code of Conduct, Code of Conduct. They concluded elections and after four months, the Lok Sabha elections came again. Then four-six months did not pass, then the elections of Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Maharashtra came and the leaders again clashed in the elections.
If a single election is lost, the media says the ground slipped

Money is wasted, governments do not do long planning
Shivraj said- Why should separate elections be held? Elections are being held every four-six months. Governance is affected. Money is wastage. On the one hand there is a wastage of money, on the other hand governments do not do long term planning.
It costs four and a half lakh crores to hold elections once. How much will be the benefit if it costs this expenditure on education and health.
Many decisions are not made due to fear of election Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said- Prime Minister Modi has taken many big and tough decisions. But, many times, many such decisions are not possible in the fear of elections that if the vote has deteriorated and if there is a loss, save the vote.
