Delhi Capitals declared former England captain Kevin Pietersen as their mentor for IPL

Delhi Capitals have declared former England captain Kevin Pietersen as their mentor for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The franchise announced on social media on Thursday. There is not much time left in the beginning of IPL 2025. The program of the 18th session of the tournament has been released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Earlier, Delhi Capitals have made a big announcement. On Thursday, it was told by the franchise that former England captain Kevin Pietersen would join the team before the upcoming tournament. He will be a part of the team as a mentor team in IPL 2025.

Peterson joined Delhi’s coaching unit
The IPL will start from 22 March. Delhi Capitals started their campaign from March 24 against Lucknow Super Giants. Earlier, a new name has been added to the coaching unit of Delhi Capitals. In the upcoming edition, Peterson will be seen working with the team’s head coach Hemang Badani, assistant coach Matthew Mot, bowling coach Munaf Patel and Director of Cricket Venugopal Rao.

Peterson has been a part of Delhi earlier also
The 44 -year -old batsman is set to return to the IPL. He has also played cricket for Delhi Capitals before, but this time he is associated with the team as a mentor. Talk about his IPL career, he played cricket in this tournament for five teams. He was part of Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), Royal Challengers Bangalore, Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rising Pune Supergiant.

Delhi did not announce captain
Delhi Capitals have not yet announced their captain. The franchise did not retain Rishabh Pant before the mega auction. Now the team has to announce the captain’s name before the upcoming tournament. The race includes the names of Akshar Patel, KL Rahul and Faf Duplessis at the forefront.
