Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s big statement, separatist activities in the state due to removal of Section 370

Srinagar
Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah has also accepted that separatist activities in the state have declined after Article 370 was removed. In a conversation with the media channel, Omar Abdullah said that separatist politics has weakened after ending the special status of Jammu and Kashmir in 2019, no one can deny it. Hurriyat Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was first impossible to get CRPF security cover, this is an example of this change. He said that if separatist politics has weakened, it means that the situation has improved. However, after his statement, a different dispute has started in Jammu and Kashmir.

Sajjad Lone said, Abdullah has the biggest security
Last year, on October 16, Omar Abdullah was sworn in as the first Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Four months after sitting in power, Omar Abdullah discussed the changes after the removal of Article 370. Abdullah said that there has been a decrease in separatist activities in Jammu and Kashmir since 2019. He said that did you ever think that Mirwaiz will get CRPF security from the Center? I could not think, but the situation has changed. Now this statement of Abdullah has created a lot of ruckus. The Chairman of the People’s Conference Sajjad Lone also targeted Omar and said that those who mention the security of Mirwaiz, they forget that they have the biggest security siege. Loan even called Abdullah’s statement deadly.

Why did Omar Abdullah target Mirwaiz
The office of Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz has described Omar Abdullah’s statement as absurd and inferior. Such irresponsible statements show insecurity within them. PDP MLA Waheed Para also wrote on X that targeting Mirwaiz separately puts him in danger. Knowing that his family has already paid a heavy price. The truth is that like hundreds of other people, tombs, temples and mosques are also protected by Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF. So if Mirwaiz is being protected, then why is it being made an issue? Waheed Para said that the strict action of security agencies and NIA in Kashmir is due to the weakening of the separation.

CM has praised the central government earlier also
In 2019, the Central Government decided to cancel the provisions of Article 370 giving special status to Jammu and Kashmir. The government issued a presidential ordinance, which took away special status from Jammu and Kashmir and canceled Article 35A. The Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Bill was also passed in the Rajya Sabha. After this, all the regional parties of Jammu and Kashmir, including Omar Abdullah and his party National Conference, opposed the removal of 370. In October 2024, elections were held for the first time in the Union Territory, in which the National Conference won a major victory. Omar Abdullah is CM for the last four months. After assuming the chair, he met Amit Shah on several issues. He praised the implementation of new laws in Jammu and Kashmir.
