Randeep Hooda paid tribute to Veer Savarkar on his death anniversary

Bollywood actor-director Randeep Hooda paid tribute to the great freedom fighter, poet and social reformer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar on the occasion of his death anniversary. Randeep shared a soulful post and recalled the immortal heritage of Veer Savarkar. Randeep entered the world of direction with his film Swatantra Veer Savarkar released on 22 March 2024, in which he played the role of Veer Savarkar.

The film reflects the life and struggles of Veer Savarkar and was a special project for Randeep, as he performed acting as well as direction, co-writing and co-building. His tribute post underlined Savarkar’s revolutionary contribution and his influence in the Indian freedom struggle. While working on the project, Randeep Hooda shared his deep emotional association with Veer Savarkar and wrote, “Today, on his death anniversary, we remember Veer Savarkar, who was a leading personality in India’s freedom struggle.”

His book ‘The History of the First War of Indian Independence’ defined the revolt of 1857 as India’s first freedom struggle, inspiring countless revolutionaries.
