Filaria eradication program will be organized by the government under the National Vector Janit Disease Control Program. Various programs will be organized from 27 February to 13 March 2025 through collective drug intake activity for prevention and awareness of filariasis. This program will be specially conducted in Rajim and Chura area.
Under this, medicines will be distributed by putting booths, traveling door-to-door, mop-up round and MDA corner activity. Under this, children and elders will be consumed to the children and elders. Under the program, Anganwadi schools and educational institutions will be consumed by putting booths from 27 February to 02 March. Similarly, drug distribution will be done at the community level by visiting door-to-door from March 03 to March 10.
The drugs will be consumed under the mop-up round from 11 to 13 March. Apart from this, during this 15 -day campaign, the medicine will be consumed by putting booths near OPD in health centers. Collector Mr. Deepak Aggarwal has given necessary instructions for smooth implementation of the filaria eradication program. He has instructed the SDM, District CEO, Education Department, Women and Child Development Department and Health Department officials to actively implement the program by coordinating the program. Along with this, instructions have been given to conduct various activities seriously by putting the duty of the employees in the required number of officers.
Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Gargi Yadu Pal said that filariasis is an infectious disease caused by mosquito bites called female cloaks. In this disease, a person’s feet become like elephants, for this reason it is called elephant foot. After cutting an infected person, if a mosquito bites a healthy person, then after one year, symptoms of this disease appear. The parasitic body lymph nodes of the elephant and feet affect the lymph nodes, lymph vessels. In case of swelling in the testicles, swelling in the legs, not hesitant or hesitant, it must go to the nearest hospital and examine it.
Elephant and feet can be completely avoided by taking medicines when the disease is detected in preliminary examination. Along with this, the use of mosquito nets should be used to prevent the spread of mosquitoes and to prevent disease, in addition to cleanliness around the houses, water pits, broken utensils, pots, should not be allowed to accumulate water or put burnt oil. Burned oil should also be added to unusable wells. This can control the source of mosquitoes flourishing. Like every year, this year too, the special program is being run by the Health Department for the intake of anti -filaria DEC pill and worm destroyer Albendazole for prevention and control of elephants.
