Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education will give bonus marks from 10 to 20 to 10th and 12th sports students in board examinations. NCC, NSS, scout-guide, volunteers of literacy program and students involved in other selected activities will also get the benefit of bonus marks.
Chhattisgarh Secondary Education Board Secretary Pushpa Sahu has sent a letter to the Education Department and sought a list of players. Students participating in state level sports will be given 10 marks, 15 marks will be given to the national level participation and 20 additional marks will be given to the students performing internationally.
The Board of Secondary Education has directed the District Education Officers and officers of the Education Department to send the list of eligible students from the schools in their area by the scheduled time, so that the process of adding bonus marks during the examination can be completed smoothly. The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education has started the process of giving bonus marks to students on the basis of excellent performance in sports and other co-adjoining activities in the board examinations of session 2024-25. For this, a list of eligible students from all schools has been sought till 25 March 2025.
Under this scheme, only students participating in certified competitions by the Indian Olympic Association, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, School Games Federation of India and other recognized institutions will be eligible. Apart from this, NCC’s RD parade, air soldiers, Navy and Cadets participating in Army Camps will also be given marks. The purpose of this decision is to encourage students to participate in sports and co-adjoining activities.
