The swearing -in ceremony of the newly elected Mayor Meenal Choubey of Raipur Municipal Corporation of Chhattisgarh and 70 councilors will be held on 27 February at the Indoor Stadium, Budhapara. This grand ceremony will start at 3 pm, which will include Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai as the chief guest.
Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, in -charge minister Kedar Kashyap, Lok Sabha MP Brijmohan Agrawal, MLA Rajesh Munat, MLA Sunil Soni, MLA Motilal Sahu and MLA Purandar Mishra including BJP and Congress will also be present at the ceremony.
The BJP has won a historic victory in the Raipur Municipal Corporation elections, and after 15 years BJP has occupied the post of Mayor. Meenal Choubey will take oath as the second woman mayor of the city. Along with him, newly elected councilors of 70 wards will also take oath, out of which 60 percent are from BJP, while 7 Congress and 3 independent councilors have been elected.
After this historic victory, preparations have been completed to make the swearing -in ceremony grand. After the swearing in, there will also be the first general meeting of Raipur Municipal Corporation, in which the Chairman will be elected. The BJP has appointed Dharamlal Kaushik as supervisor for the election of Chairman. MIC will be formed after taking oath of Mayor Meenal Choubey, and one zone president will be appointed for ten zones.
