Karachi
The direction of the country has changed since Sheikh Hasina was evicted from the power of Bangladesh. Bangladesh is now seen going closer to Pakistan than India. Recently, Bangladesh had approved Pakistan’s goods that there will be no physical checking of the cargas coming from there. Not only this, now the direct business between the two countries has also been approved. This is the first time since 1971, when the goods with government approval from Pakistan have left for Bangladesh. This cargo ship has left from Kasim Port in Karachi. Bangladesh was formed in 1971 and since then he has never been directly business with Pakistan. In such a situation, this change is quite big.
Bangladesh had tied up in early February about business with Pakistan. Under this, imports of 50 thousand tonnes of Pakistani rice were approved. This purchase of rice has been made from the Trading Corporation of Pakistan. According to the report of the Express Tribune, this is the first time that Pakistan National Shipping Corporation ship has left for Bangladeshi Port with government goods. It is a large milestone in the case of meritime trade. A part of Pakistan, built in the result of Partition of India, was called East Pakistan, which separated in 1971 and its new name became Bangladesh. Muslim -majority Bangladesh was formed in the name of Bangla language, but after Sheikh Hasina was ousted from power, Islamic radical forces are getting stronger again.
The Jamaat-e-Islami in Bangladesh has again strengthened, which has been a supporter of good relations with Pakistan in the name of Islam. It is believed that Mohammad Yunus is also under the influence of these Islamic radical forces. Due to this, the official business has started between Bangladesh and Pakistan for the first time. In the deal that has been done between Bangladesh and Pakistan on rice, 25 thousand tonnes will be imported in the first round. After this, the next round will be imported in early March.
Bangladesh’s business from India is expected to weaken in the event of growing business with Pakistan. Bangladesh has been importing large amounts of foods from India, but now it is going closer to Pakistan. Mohammad Yunus, the head of the interim government of Bangladesh, has increased closely with Pakistan after Sheikh Hasina’s farewell to power. He has also met PM Shahbaz Sharif and is also preparing to visit Pakistan.
