Chief Minister (Vishnu Dev Sai) has given orders for Investigation of Foreign Funding in the state (NGOS). 153 institutions in the state are registered under Foreign Funding Regulation Act (FCRA).
Of these, 52 have described themselves as associated with the Christian community in the Registrar Firms and Society. Central and state investigative agencies have started investigating the activities and financial transactions of all NGOs taking foreign funds. The activities of these NGOs formed for objectives like health, education and social work have been found to be suspicious. Investigation of NewDuniya has revealed that most of the NGOs registered FCRA have selected tribal areas.
15 institutions of Christian missionaries in Jashpur
FCRAs in Bastar are being conducted by Christian missionaries in nine out of 19 registered and 15 out of 18 in Jashpur. In Bastar, where swords have been drawn between the Christian community and the tribal society regarding tombs. At the same time, Jashpur also remains in the headlines in matters of conversion.
Jashpur’s most conversion
In Chhattisgarh, most of the institutions are being operated in Jashpur by Christians. At the same time, the most conversion comes from Jashpur district itself. There is an assessment of more than 35 percent of the population. Although in March 2024, according to information received under RTI, only 210 people became legally Christians and all of them have died.
On the other hand, according to the 2011 census report, 22.5 percent of Jashpur i.e. 1.89 lakh people had described themselves as Christians. Right now it is three lakhs. Please tell that CM Sai has also expressed concern about funding.
