The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) team will train the players of the state for Olympic level events. A special delegation of IOA will come to Chhattisgarh, which will include experienced coaches and experts of various sports. They will train local players to train and enhance sports techniques for Olympic level competitions. This information has been given to Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai by IOA President and Rajya Sabha MP PT Usha. She arrived in New Delhi on Thursday to meet Chief Minister Sai.
International identity should be given to sports talent
During this period, there was a widespread discussion about the development of sports in Chhattisgarh, training of young players, strengthening of sports infrastructure and preparations for the state for Olympic level competitions. Chief Minister Sai said that the government is committed to recognizing sports talents at the national and international level in the state. It has been announced to give an incentive of three crore rupees to the players who won the gold medal in the Olympics, two crore rupees to the silver medalist and one crore rupees to the bronze medalist.
Lack of sports talent not in Chhattisgarh
PT Usha said that there is no dearth of sports talent in Chhattisgarh. If they get the right guidance and resources, they can excel on national and international sports forums. He appreciated the efforts of the state government to promote sports in the state and described it as an exemplary example for India’s Sports Promotion Model.
Will give new flights to sports talent- Sai
Chief Minister Sai said that special sports events are being successfully conducted to increase interest in sports and enhance hidden talent among the youth. Bastar Olympics were organized, in which more than 1.65 lakh youth participated. The main objective of the event was to prepare local sports talents for competition at national and international levels. On March 2, Abujhmad Peace Half Marathon will be organized, in which more than five thousand young participants will participate. The partnership between the state government and the Indian Olympic Association will give a new dimension to the development of sports in the state.
