Taking cognizance of the case on Tuesday, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis directed the Maharashtra Police to contact Wikipedia and request to remove objectionable material. Along with this, he said that he will not tolerate this writing on the open-source platform, where historical facts should be distorted. He said that he has ordered the officials to take whatever steps they need to take. Fadnavis also said that Wikipedia is not operated from India and is managed by volunteers. They have editorial rights.

Following the instructions of the Chief Minister, the Maharashtra Cyber ​​Police has issued a notice to Wikipedia, warning of legal action on not removing objectionable material about Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
