Due to the budget cut in Satna Medical College Project, the atmosphere of protest in the city is being hot. The amount of Rs 550 crore for this project has been reduced to Rs 383 crore, which has removed many important facilities including cancer unit.

Posters to be ‘missing’ by MLA
The general public, business organizations and political parties are openly protesting against the budget cuts. On Monday night, posters of Congress MLA Siddharth Kushwaha being ‘lost’ were posted in various areas of the city.

BJP leaders also opposed
The protest in this matter was not limited to the opposition only, but the leaders of the ruling party have also come out openly in it. Minister of State for Urban Administration and Housing Pratima Bagri has opposed this deduction. At the same time, BJP District General Secretary Rishabh Singh wrote a letter to the Chief Minister and informed about the sentiments of the public. BJP Yuva Morcha workers submitted a memorandum to their own party office and protested against this decision.

People are constantly discussing this issue on social media. Posts are being shared on Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp to protest against the cuts in schemes related to Satna Medical College. The common people are demanding the government to withdraw this decision.

Merchant organization also landed in the ground
There is also resentment among traders for the removal of cancer units from the medical college. Vindhya Chamber of Commerce President Satish Sukheja has called a meeting on this issue at 4 pm on Wednesday. He said that this subject is not only limited to health facilities, but is also related to the development of Satna. In this meeting, the business community will decide further strategy.

Public demand – decision to be reconsidered
The people of Satna are demanding the government to reconsider this decision. Removing important facilities like cancer unit is not only harmful to patients, but it will also affect the health structure of the entire Vindhya region. The public wants the government to withdraw this decision and as before, the entire amount of Rs 550 crore should be released for the development of the medical college.
