He told that there are about three thousand crocodiles in the world, 85 percent of them are in the Chambal river. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the National Chambal Sanctuary is also known as the National Chambal Gharial Wildlife Sanctuary. This Chambal Boat is famous as Safari among tourists. It is a major conservation project with joint efforts of three states Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. In the year 1978, it was recognized as a wildlife sanctuary in Madhya Pradesh. The main objective of the Chambal Gharial Wildlife Sanctuary is to preserve endangered gongs, red crown roof turtles and endangered Ganga dolphins.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that this sanctuary is spread over an area of ​​about five and a half square kilometers. Like the hills and sandy beaches, this earth is filled with the banks of the Chambal River. It is preserved under the Wildlife Protection Act 1972 and is headquartered in Morena.
