Europe’s most dreaded criminal was killed in Mexico, know who was Marco Abban

A drug smuggler, one of Europe’s most dreaded criminals, has been killed in Mexico. He tried to escape by pretending to be his death. Officials have informed this on Friday. Marco Abban was shot dead in a city in Atizapan D Zaragosa, about 25 km from Mexico City on Thursday. Enforcement officials confirmed Abban’s identity.

European police agency Europeol listed Abban in Europe’s “most wanted fugitives”. He was involved in smuggling drugs from Brazil in the Netherlands. The European Police website states that he was sentenced to more than seven years in October 2020.

Between 2014 and 2015, Abban and his associates are accused of smuggling 400 kg of cocaine in pineapple containers. To avoid arrest, he pretended his death in Kuliyakan last October. It is a stronghold of Sinaloa Cartel in Mexico and there was a conflict between two cartel groups.

According to local media, Abban was accused of being associated with a group, but no evidence of his death was found at that time. There was only the statement of an alleged girlfriend who identified the body.

Mexiki officials said on Friday that they arrested a suspected Sinaloa Cartel Drug smuggler in the Chihuahua state of North Mexico. He was desired by the US. Local media recognized him as Hamberto Riviera.
