Sad news from the entertainment world, classical singer Pandit Prabhakar Karekar died, broken at the age of 80

A sad news has recently come out from the entertainment world. Famous Indian classical singer Pandit Prabhakar Karekar is no longer in this world. He died in Mumbai at the age of 80. According to Prabhakar Karekar’s family, he breathed his last at his residence in Shivaji Park area on Wednesday night. His death has raged a wave of mourning in the entertainment world. The body of Pandit Prabhakar Karekar will be kept in his residence in Dadar for the last darshan.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has paid tribute to Pandit Prabhakar Karekar. He wrote in the post on X account- “It was sad to know about the death of Hindustani classical and semi-classical singer Pandit Prabhakar Karekar. Born in Antruz Mahal Goa, he learned classical music under the patronage of Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki. Demonstrated on various forums worldwide. He contributed greatly to the conservation and expansion of classical music in Goa. ”

CM Sawant further wrote- ‘My deep condolences to family, followers, well-wishers and students. May God bless the departed soul. Om Shanti. ‘
Let me tell you, Pandit Prabhakar Karekar was known for singing like “Bolwa Vitthal Pahawa Vitthal” and “Vakratund Mahakaya”. He received training from veterans like Pandit Suresh Haldankar, Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki and Pandit CR Vyas.
