First phase proceedings in Lok Sabha, now the next meeting of the House will be held on March 10

The proceedings of the first phase of the budget session in the Lok Sabha were concluded on Thursday and now the next meeting of the House will be held on 10 March. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla expressed happiness over the functioning of the House and said that work productivity was about 112 percent. On Thursday, the proceedings of the House started at 2 pm after a one-time adjournment due to the noise of the members of the opposition parties, including the Congress, over a news related to the Adani group. On the commencement of proceedings, a report of the Joint Committee of Parliament on the Waqf Amendment Bill was presented and the Income Tax Bill, 2025 presented the Income Tax Bill, 2025 amidst the uproar of opposition members in the House.

General discussion on budget lasted 16 hours 13 minutes
Jagdambika Pal, chairman of the Waqf Bill, presented the report and while registering a protest on it, members of the opposition walked out of the House. After this, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla announced the conclusion of the first phase of the budget session. Birla said, “It is the last day of the first phase of the budget session. I am happy that there was a discussion in a good environment. The members got full support. ” He said that in the joint meeting of Parliament, the proposal on the President’s address was discussed in the House about 17 hours 23 minutes in which 173 members participated. Birla said that the general discussion on the Union Budget lasted 16 hours 13 minutes, in which 170 members participated. He said, “Hope that members will continue to get support in the same way.” Birla adjourned the proceedings till 11 am on March 10.

Earlier this morning, the meeting of the House started this morning, then the members of the Congress and some other opposition parties created a ruckus about a news related to the Adani group, due to which the proceedings of the House were adjourned till two in the afternoon after the commencement of the house. Was given. In the midst of slogans, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla started the Question Hour and some supplementary questions related to the Ministry of Water Power were asked. Birla appealed to the opposition members to stop shouting slogans and let the proceedings go. He said, “You do deadlock in a planned manner during the Question Hour, this is not a good tradition. AAP (Congress) has ruled so many years…. You create disruption in the House. ” Birla said, “I have said that let the subject be kept at 12 noon, but you do not want discussion.” You do not want to bring important subjects to the House. ” He said, “The accountability of the government is fixed in the Question Hour. This is the most important time. You want to take away the rights of the members. “

The second phase of the session will begin on March 10
When the commotion did not stop, Birla adjourned the proceedings of the House till 2 pm at around 5 pm. The news that the opposition members created a ruckus have claimed that the government has relaxed the national security protocol along the Pakistan border to pave the way for the renewable energy park of Adani Group in Gujarat. The Congress alleges that the government has threatened national security to benefit this business group. The allegation from Adani Group has not yet responded. The budget session began on 31 January with the address of President Draupadi Murmu in the joint session and the next day was presented on February 1. Sitharaman presented the first full budget of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s third term and his eighth budget as Finance Minister continuously. The second phase of the session will start on March 10 and is expected to continue till 4 April. A total of 27 meetings are proposed in the budget session.
