National Sports: Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal dominate the first day of table tennis matches

The first day of table tennis matches in the multi -purpose hall under the 38th National Games was exciting. Players from various states performed strongly in the women’s and men’s team events. Teams from Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal topped their respective groups.

Women’s team competition: Maharashtra and West Bengal gourd

In the women’s team event, Maharashtra and West Bengal topped their respective groups, showing great games.

Group A:

Maharashtra won all three matches and dominated. Delhi also performed strongly, while Uttarakhand suffered defeat in all matches.

Round 1: Maharashtra defeated Delhi 3–0 and Tamil Nadu defeated Uttarakhand 3–0.

Round 2: Maharashtra defeated Tamil Nadu 3–1 and Delhi defeated Uttarakhand 3–1.

Round 3: Maharashtra defeated Uttarakhand 3–0 and Delhi defeated Tamil Nadu 3–2.

Group B:

West Bengal won all three matches and topped the group. Haryana also presented a tough challenge.

Round 1: West Bengal defeated Karnataka 3–0 and Haryana defeated Gujarat 3–2.

Round 2: West Bengal defeated Haryana 3–1 and Karnataka defeated Gujarat 3–2.

Round 3: West Bengal defeated Gujarat 3–0 and Haryana defeated Karnataka 3–2.

Men’s team competition: Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra strong start

Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra dominated the men’s team matches. Tamil Nadu topped Group A, while Maharashtra topped Group B.

Group A:

Tamil Nadu performed brilliantly by winning all three matches.

Round 1: Tamil Nadu defeated Telangana 3–1 and Assam defeated Uttar Pradesh 3–0.

Round 2: Tamil Nadu defeated Uttar Pradesh 3–1 and Telangana defeated Assam 3–1.

Round 3: Tamil Nadu defeated Assam 3–0 and Telangana defeated Uttar Pradesh 3–2.

Group B:

Maharashtra won its three matches and topped.

Round 1: Maharashtra defeated West Bengal 3–0 and Delhi defeated Uttarakhand 3–1.

Round 2: West Bengal defeated Delhi 3–1 and Maharashtra defeated Uttarakhand 3–0.

Round 3: West Bengal defeated Uttarakhand 3–0 and Maharashtra defeated Delhi 3–0.

Hope of strict competition in next round

The teams of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal are seen in excellent rhythm in both women and men. Although Uttarakhand had to struggle, the players showed a militant game. The semi -finals are expected to be extremely exciting.
