Rewa gets the gift of the White Tiger Breeding Center

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla has congratulated the people of the state on the approval received at the proposed White Tiger Breeding Center at Govindgarh, Rewa. He has expressed gratitude to the Central Government. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla said that this project reflects the state government’s commitment to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of environmental protection and sustainable development. The installation of the White Tiger Breeding Center will not only help in increasing the number of tigers but will also encourage tourism. This initiative will further strengthen our commitment to tiger conservation and nature.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the Madhya Pradesh government is fully committed to conservation of biodiversity, wildlife security and development of tourism. The approval received by the proposed White Tiger Breeding Center at Govindgarh, Rewa is an important achievement in this direction. He said that it is the effort of the government that Madhya Pradesh should become an ideal state in the field of wildlife conservation.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla said that Madhya Pradesh is reputed not only as “Tiger State” but also as “Leopard State” and “Cheetah State” due to its outstanding achievements in the field of wildlife conservation. The state has recorded the highest leopard population of the country, which is a proof of the rich wildlife here. Madhya Pradesh has also achieved the pride of “Cheetah State” by successfully restoring the cheetahs brought from Namibia and South Africa under the Cheetah Rehabilitation Project. Innovative efforts are being made for wildlife conservation in areas like Kanha National Park, Bandhavgarh, Satpura and Panna Tiger Reserve. This achievement of the state has also been appreciated by national and international wildlife experts. He said that the state’s commitment for wildlife conservation is included in the leading states of the country.

Historical initiative in tiger conservation
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla said that the establishment of the White Tiger Breeding Center in Govindgarh will ensure the safety and increase in the number of White Tiger. The center will also give a new direction to wildlife tourism in the state. Madhya Pradesh is also a leader in the number of tigers and this initiative will further strengthen this reputation of the state.

Tourism and employment will get a boost
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla said that new employment opportunities for local communities will arise through the White Tiger Breeding Center. Rewa and Satna region will get a new identity on the tourism map by attracting tourists from India and abroad.

White Tiger Breeding Center will be established as satellite facility in Rewa
Maharaja Martand Singh Judeo White Tiger Safari and Zoo, Mukundpur, Satna under the revised Master (Lay-Out) Plan of Satna, Govindgarh, Rewa as satellite facility to set up a proposal to set up a white tiger breeding center as satellite facility by the Specialist Committee of the Central Zoo Authority Technical Approval has been given on the recommendation of the committee. This acceptance has been provided in the sequence of the 114th meeting of the expert committee held on 9 and 17 December 2024 and the 112nd meeting of the Technical Committee on December 19, 2024.
