There has been a panic in politics after the cancellation form of Congress candidates in the urban body-Panchayat elections and withdrawal of nomination form by the candidates. In the Congress, nominations from councilor to mayor’s candidate are being canceled.

As a result, BJP candidates are being elected unopposed councilors in many places. After the cancellation of the nomination of Congress mayor candidate Vijay Golchha in Dhamtari Municipal Corporation, the Congress has called it an abuse of power.

Meera Singh of Congress withdrew his name at the last moment. This ward was reserved for the general women category and the BJP nominated Vidyavati Singh, the mother of its former councilor Arun Singh from this seat.

Unopposed in Ghatghora and Barsur
BJP’s Shivmati got a direct walkover from Katghora Nagar Palika Parishad. In ward number 13, Congress candidate Sitabai did not file nomination. BJP’s Geeta Baghel has been elected unopposed councilor from ward number-one Mangalpot Para of Barsur, Nagar Panchayat of Dantewada.

Priya Pujari who is also a relative of Geeta Baghel, who took ticket from Congress, pulled out of the election with mutual consent. The tradition of being elected unopposed councilors for the fourth consecutive time in this ward continued.
