Nowadays artificial technology is being discussed all over the world. From American Company OpenAI’s chatGPT to Chinese company Deepseek, from the recently launched Deepsek R1 AI Chat model, each AI model is trending, because it becomes a special need for people day to day people Used to be. Realizing this need of the people, now India is also going to launch its own safe and secure AI model. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Ministry of Railways, Electronics and IT, said that we will create our own domestic large language model (LLM), which will be part of the Rs 10,370 crore project of IndiaAI Mission.

10 companies will supply a total of 18,693 GPUS

For this, the government has also chosen 10 companies, which will supply 18,693 graphics processing units or GPUS. These are GPU high end chips, which are used to develop machine learning tools, which helps in creating foundational models. In ten companies selected by the Government of India for Indian Large Language Model (LLM), Yotta, Jio Platforms, Tata Communications, E2E Network, CMS computers, CTRLS DATCECENTERS, LOCUZ Enterprise Solutions, NOXTGEN DATCENCENS YSCO Technologies The name is included.

These 10 companies will provide 18,693 GPUs providing, but only the Yotta company will offer the next 9,216 GPU units, which will be about half of the total units. Giving more information about this, the Union Minister told the reports that,

“In the last 1.5 years, our teams are working very seriously with startups, researchers and processors etc. Today, we have proposed to make our own foundational model. This model will take full care of things like Indian Context, Language, Culture etc. ”

He further said that,

“The Government of India is in touch with at least 6 developers to create a foundational model. It can be prepared in the next 4-8 months. In the next few months we will have a world class foundational model. “

However, the IT Minister has not given information about how many rupees will be spent to make Indian AI LLM and which developer company is in touch with the government. He informed that, out of 18,693 GPU units, 10,000 GPUs are ready to install from today and the remaining 8693 GPUs will also be made available soon.

The Government of India will launch a common compute facility in the coming days, from where startups and researchers will be able to use computing power. To get access to high-end GPU units, you will have to spend Rs 150 per hour and to get access to low-end GPU units Rs 115.85 per hour. To make the access to these service easier, the government and users will also give a subsidy of 40% at a total price, due to which its price will be less than Rs 100 per hour.

The Union Minister further said, “Worldwide, the price of GPU access ranges from $ 2.5 to $ 3 (in Indian currency – from Rs 216.50 to Rs 259.80), and we are about 1 dollar per hour after subsidy i.e. Is going to provide available for Rs 86.60. “
