Sheikh Hasina’s party will ask for resignation from the party Yunus government in Bangladesh

Dhaka

Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s party in Bangladesh has played the bugle of return. The Awami League has announced that it will demand the resignation of Mohammad Yunus -led interim government in protest against the oppression of Hindus in the country. The party also plans to mass protests and to hit the road. Significantly, this is the first major performance of the Awami League after Sheikh Hasina left the country. Most of the party leaders were arrested since the collapse of the government led by Sheikh Hasina after the student movement last year. At the same time, many leaders are hiding in the country due to fear of attacks.

According to a statement posted on Awami League’s Facebook page, the party will take to the streets from February 1 to pressurize the Yunus government to resign. The statement said that the party has started preparing for it. On 6 February, protest marches and rallies will be held across the country. At the same time, demonstrations and rallies will also be held on 10 February. The statement also said that on February 16, blockade will be done across the country and the strike will be organized from morning to evening on 18 February.

Interestingly, in this post, Sheikh Hasina has been addressed as Prime Minister. The statement said that through this movement, the ICT Tribunal will also demand to withdraw the allegations against the Prime Minister and other party leaders. Please tell that after being evicted from power, the party had announced a plan to take to the streets on 10 November as well. However, this event could not be organized. Awami League has been largely passive since the protests and violence in July-August. At the same time, party president Sheikh Hasina took refuge in India after a large -scale rebellion.
