Dress code implemented in Mumbai’s Siddhivinayak temple from today

Mumbai

The Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai has issued a new guideline for the devotees. According to the temple administration, the dress code is being implemented for the devotees coming to the temple since Thursday. Under this new arrangement, wearing skirts, mutilated clothes and revolving dresses will not get entry into the temple.

Speaking to the media, Treasurer of Siddhivinayak Temple Trust, Acharya Pawan Tripathi said that the Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai is not only India, but is a major center of the faith of Sanatani and Ganesh devotees from all over the world. Millions of people come here to visit and the desire of the life of the devotees who come here is fulfilled. But, when people go to a holy place, it is necessary to follow some rules there, so that the sanctity of that place remains.

He further said that this decision has been taken on the basis of the suggestions of the devotees visiting the temple. Many devotees had expressed concern about the dress of some devotees while visiting the temple, whose clothes were not decent. Considering this, the Siddhivinayak Trust decided that those coming to visit would have to wear decent clothes. This is not a matter of politics.

This is a matter of religious and faith. When people go to a temple, they usually bathe, wearing good and gentle clothes. We want the devotees visiting the temple to follow it. The devotees will gradually reach information about this rule and they will follow it.

Acharya Pawan Tripathi further said that dress code is applicable in many temples across the country and the devotees visiting there are already familiar with these rules. We are confident that this rule will be approved over time in Siddhivinayak temple and devotees will follow it. This decision has been taken only keeping in mind the sanctity of the Siddhivinayak temple and the faith of the devotees.
