Chhattisgarh’s first DGP, Mr. Srimmohan Shukla dies

Tribute paid in police headquarters Naya Raipur

The first Director General of Police (DGP) of Chhattisgarh, Mr. Srimmoh Shukla died today on 28 January 2025. Retired IPS officer Mr. Shukla (age 85 years) breathed his last at his residence in Vaishali Nagar, Bhopal. Shri Shukla’s funeral was done in Bhopal at 12 noon today. During this, family members, friends and several senior officials of the police department bid farewell to him.

Shri Srimmohan Shukla was the first Director General of Police of Chhattisgarh. He was the Director General of Police (DGP) from November 1, 2000 to 26 May 2001. He then served as the first chairman of the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission from 26 May 2001 to 2 October 2004. On the death of Shri Shukla, Director General of Police Mr. Ashok Juneja and senior IPS officers organized a tribute meeting at Chhattisgarh Police Headquarters, Naya Raipur and paid homage.
