Bangladesh ended its journey from the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 with an easy 10 wicket win over West Indies at Bangladesh on Tuesday. The start of the match was delayed due to rain and the match became 13–13 overs, and Bangladesh had to score only 55 runs to win due to strong bowling performance. Both Nishita Akhtar Nishi and Anisa Akhtar Soba impressed with the bowling, interrupting the speed of the West Indies with five consecutive wickets.
And openers Fahomida Choya and Jariaia Firdaus made no mistake in the run chase, they ensured their team’s third win in the tournament by scoring the required score in less than nine overs. However, it was not enough to reach the semi -finals ahead of India and Australia from Super Six Group 1. Bangladesh’s skimp bowling ensured that the West Indies were limited to the slow start of their innings, their four -over powerplay came only 12 runs. Nishita Akhtar Nishi also achieved initial success, wooing captain Samara Ramnath to play the shot, who went into the hands of Habiba Pinky on long-on and dismissed the opener for zero.
Nishita again took the wicket of Asbi Calnder in her next over, who also caught a fielder in Deep and was dismissed for 12 runs. The spinner then bowled Jahzara Claxton on the first ball and the West Indies got into a critical position of 16 runs for three wickets.
Nagni Cumberbach and Bryna Harecaran tried to handle the innings, but their new partnership ended on the first ball of Anisa Akhtar Soba’s innings, in which the wrist spinner dismissed Haricran for three runs. Kumberbach held his team and scored 13 runs, but then Nishita gave Jannatul Maua the first wicket of the match in Deep.
After this, Anisa dismissed Abigel Bryce for two runs and took his second wicket of the match and the West Indies score to 42 for six. Amrita Ramthal scored the top score by scoring 16 runs and the West Indies gave Bangladesh a target of 55 runs to win. Bangladesh started a brilliant start chasing the target and took advantage of loose fielding by scoring 11 runs in the first over.
Openers Fahomida Choya and Jariaria Firdaus achieved the boundary in the next two overs and Bangladesh scored a fast required score. Some disciplined line and length slowed down the run rate, but the West Indies could not get success. The partnership reached 50 runs in the ninth over and Juria won in a brilliant manner and once again won the boundary and Bangladesh registered an easy win.
