In Uttarakhand, the much talked about law uniform civil code i.e. UCC is being implemented from today. The Chief Minister of the state had said on Sunday that we are going to implement the rules of UCC from Monday i.e. January 27. With the implementation of UCC rules in Uttarakhand, this state has become the first state to do so in the country. Many things are going to change from today as soon as the UCC is implemented. The state government has also made people aware of it by implementing it. A UCC portal will also be launched today. Let us tell you that before implementing UCC rules, there was a long exercise about it. People were discussed and consultation was also taken from all people in the whole of Uttarakhand. An expert committee was formed for this. Recently, the cabinet had agreed to the UCC rules.
Uttarakhand will be the first state in the country where Uniform Civil Code will be implemented from today. As soon as the Uniform Civil Code i.e. the Uniform Civil Code is implemented, many things like marriage, relationship, property, polygamy in Uttarakhand will not remain the same. With the implementation of this law, marriage registration will become mandatory. The law of divorce for all religions in this state will be the same. simultaneously Practice like polygamy and halala will stop.

Registration of marriage within 6 months
1- UCC Registration of all marriages will be mandatory as soon as it is implemented. Facilities have been made to help people register their marriage online so that they do not have to visit government offices for this. The cut off for this has been kept on 27 March 2010. That is, all marriage from this day will have to be registered. It will be mandatory to register the marriage within 6 months.
Registration of Lin-in relation mandatory
2-Parents permission will be mandatory to stay in a lin-in relationship in the Uniform Civil Code. The couple living in these relationships will have to announce a relationship in front of the registrar. If they want to end the relationship, then the information has to be given to the registrar. Live- The child born with these will be considered valid. The woman will be able to demand a living allowance when the live in relationship is broken. A fine of Rs 10,000 can be imposed for staying in live in more than a month without giving information.
Registration will inform the Registrar to their parents or parents, this information will be kept completely confidential.
Son-daughter entitled equal in property
3-property No distinction will be made in children in the right of children, that is, children born by supporting methods, born on the basis of natural relationships, or live in relationships, etc., will also be considered as equal rights in the property. Under this law, daughter has also been given equal rights in property in all religions and communities.
Parents also have the right to property
4-After the death of any person, there is no situation of differences between family members about his property, for this, his wife, children and parents have been given equal rights on the property of the deceased.
Ban on Halala-Bahuvivaha
5The UCC, which was implemented in Uttarakhand, has been banned on the practice prevalent in Islam. Apart from this, polygamy has also been banned.
Not marriage before 18 years, Muslims are also in the realm
6- People of all religions can marry according to their customs, but in all religions, the minimum age of marriage has been made 21 years for boys and 18 years for girls. Now the marriage of Muslim girls will not be possible before the age of 18.

In all religious communities, equal laws for marriage divorce, alimony and heritage will now be mandatory for weddings.
It will be necessary to register within six months of marriage. Registration of weddings before 26 March 2010 will not be necessary. A fine of twenty -five thousand rupees can also be imposed for not getting the approved. Government facilities will not get the benefit of not registering.
Women will also have the right to divorce as men. The son will get equal rights in the property, there will be no distinction between justified and illegitimate children.
A similar law of divorce will apply for a person of any caste, religion or sect. At present, these matters are settled according to every religion in the country.
From now on, there will be a ban on Buhvi Vivah in Uttarakhand. Girls’ marriage age, irrespective of caste or religion, will be the same. Girls must be 18 years old.
The practice of Halala in Uttarakhand is also going to stop with the implementation of UCC. Also, girls will be considered equal to boys for succession.
It will be mandatory for the couple to have a live -in relationship resistance. If a couple are between 18 and 21 years old, then they will also have to give the consent letter of their parents during registration.
The Schedule Tribe is completely excluded from the UCC rules and laws. Apart from this, no kind of tampering has been done with transgender and religious affairs such as worship rules and traditions.

The Bharatiya Janata Party promised to implement UCC in Uttarakhand in the 2022 election. When the BJP returned to power again, its proposal was approved in the first meeting of the cabinet led by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. It was also asked to prepare its draft.
