The Awards of 2024 are being announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC). In this episode, Indian team’s fast bowler Arshdeep Singh has also won a big award. Left -arm fast bowler Arshdeep has been selected as ICC Mains T20I Cricketer of the Year 2024. Apart from Arshdeep, former Pakistan captain Babar Azam, all -rounder Sikander Raza (Zimbabwe) and Australian opener Travis Head were also in the race for this award.
Arshdeep has performed brilliantly in T20I
Arshdeep Singh was India’s most successful bowler in T20 International last year. The left -arm fast bowler took 36 wickets at an impressive average of 13.50 in 18 T20 International last year. Arshdeep’s most spectacular performance was in the T20 World Cup 2024, where he took 17 wickets in eight matches. Arshadeep bowled brilliantly in the final of T20 World Cup 2024. India then defeated South Africa and won the T20 World Cup.
2024 remained the year where Arshdeep Singh established himself as a world class bowler in T20. Arshdeep took a lot of wickets with the new ball and also proved to be economical in the death overs. Last year, only four bowlers took more wickets than Arshdeep in T20 International. It includes the names of Saudi Arabia’s Usman Najeeb (38), Sri Lanka’s Vanindu Hasranga (38), UAE’s Junaid Siddiqui (40) and Hong Kong’s Ehsan Khan (46). However, all of them played more matches than Arshdeep.
Arshdeep Singh is India’s most successful bowler in T20 International. Arshdeep has so far taken 97 wickets in 61 T20 matches. In such a situation, Arshdeep will take 100 wickets in T20 as soon as he takes 3 wickets. He will become Indians first to do so. Arshdeep bowled amazing in Kolkata T20 against England. Then he took 2 wickets in 4 overs. Tim Saudi has the highest number of wickets in T20 International Cricket History. He has taken 164 wickets in 126 matches.
