More than 87 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted

The process of purchasing paddy started in Chhattisgarh from 14 November continues continuously. Last year record has been broken in paddy purchase so far. Last year, 144.92 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was purchased. This year, the figure of paddy procurement till date has crossed 145 lakh metric tonnes.
Food department officials said that 25 lakh 13 thousand farmers of the state have sold paddy. So far, farmers have been paid Rs 29 thousand 599 crore under the bank licking system in lieu of paddy purchase.
Along with the purchase of paddy, paddy is being raised for custom mealing. So far, DO and TO have been released for the lift of 110 lakh metric tonnes of paddy. Against which more than 87 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have been lifted. Paddy procurement will run till 31 January 2025.
In the Kharif marketing year 2024-25, all registered farmers of the state have been made available for the token facility online app (token tunhar hath) and in procurement centers till 25 January 2025. Farmers can select the date as per the convenience and sell paddy as per rules.
Significantly, the state government has registered by 27.78 lakh farmers for this kharif year. It consists of 1.59 lakh new farmers. This year, 160 lakh metric tonnes of paddy is estimated through 2739 procurement centers.
The state government has purchased 1.41 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from 30 thousand 762 farmers on January 24 under the support price. 58 thousand 997 tokens were issued for this.
