During this time the train was stopped by pulling an emergency chain. Meanwhile, some passengers jumped down from the train to save their lives. Passengers were hit by another express train coming on the side track, causing many casualties and injured.

Ajit Pawar said that 13 people have died in this incident so far. 10 of them have been identified. Three people have not yet been identified. The incident occurred only due to rumors. The government will bear the cost of treatment of the injured. Udal Kumar (30), a resident of Uttar Pradesh, came to Mumbai for the first time with his relative Vijay Kumar. Both were traveling with general tickets. Udal Kumar and Vijay Kumar were also injured in this accident.
