New update soon in iOS 18.3, Apple removed notification feature

Apple Notification: Apple will remove the notification summary feature. This initiative has been taken after facing many errors. In December, the tech giant also received a complaint from the BBC, among others. After all this Apple decided to temporarily suspend its notification summaries provided through Apple Intelligence.

As per the report, summaries for entertainment and news category apps have been temporarily disabled. However, they may come back and be reinstated in an upcoming update. If necessary, it is expected to come with the final version of iOS 18.3 or later.

The suspension of this facility was announced a few days ago. Now in a statement Apple has confirmed that a software update will be deployed in the coming weeks. The update will be evident when the text displayed is a summary provided by Apple Intelligence. The tech giant encouraged users to report any issues if they encounter any unexpected notifications. Apple’s goal with the update is to help you distinguish between the summary generated by Apple Intelligence and the initial information sent from the media.

Apart from the updates mentioned above, there are some changes you need to know about. Summary information is now displayed in italic text. This helps to distinguish them from any common standard information. You can disable notification summaries within each app directly from the lock screen by swiping up a notification and pressing the Options button.

In the messages menu bar (usually accessible by pressing the + button in any conversation), there is now an entry for Genmoji. Previously, you could only add emoji by pressing the Emoji keyboard button. Now AI can help you create Genmoji. If you’re editing a PDF through the screenshot interface, Apple now provides a warning if you crop content. It displays a warning that the cropped content has not been removed from the PDF.
