Children fishing in the canal near the old filter plant located at the pump house found a bag floating in the water. When opened, the severed head and hand of an unknown woman was found inside. Police reached the spot after receiving the information and are making efforts for identification after taking legal action.
There is a filter plant between the river and canal near Jhopdipara of Pump House Colony under CSEB police post. These days water is being released in the canal. Due to this, children are fishing along with bathing in the river. It is being told that on Monday evening, when some children were fishing in the canal, they saw a bag floating in the water.
The children brought that bag out of the water. When he opened the bag out of curiosity, he found a woman’s severed head wrapped in a cloth. Also a part of the wrist and a claw were wrapped in a black maroon colored kathri or mattress cover.
There was a commotion in the area
Along with this, a sari and a pink colored top have been found. This created panic among the children and they informed their relatives about it. Within no time a crowd gathered at the venue. Meanwhile someone informed this at CSEB post.
Additional Superintendent of Police UBS Chauhan reached the spot along with the police and forensic expert team. The police have taken possession of the severed head and sent it for post-mortem. Further action is being taken in the matter. Additional Superintendent of Police Chauhan said that after receiving information, the police team reached the spot and investigation action is being taken.
Efforts to identify the woman
He further said that at present efforts are being made to identify the woman. It is also being ascertained whether any woman is missing from any police station area. People have been asked to identify them on the basis of clothes and other items found together.
The team of forensic experts has also started investigation at their level. Only after investigation will it be clear when the woman might have been murdered. Efforts are also being made to find out where his dead body is.
