Proposed NTPC is installing solar plant instead of thermal power plant.

Earlier in 2013, there was a proposal by NTPC to set up a thermal power plant on 2839 acres of land in Barethi, for which the land was also acquired. However, due to lack of environmental clearance, the work on this thermal power plant was canceled in 2017 and it was decided to install a solar power plant in its place. Since then, farmers were growing crops on this land, and had also received compensation.

Local people will get employment opportunities

The construction work of solar power plant in Barethi will create new employment opportunities for the local people and unemployed youth. The youth going from the district to other cities for employment will now be able to get work in their own district. After the construction work, hundreds of people will be required to operate the plant, for which special training will be given to the youth, so that they can work in this project.
